What initially made you interested in Data Science?

Data analysis and machine learning algorithms help me have a deep understanding of what is happening around me, and inspire me to look at life in a creative and unique way. The unlimited possibilities of fast computation and statistical methods I encountered cultivated my passion for statistical analysis in data science. 

What are your plans following the program?

I plan to pursue a career in the fields of technology and the Internet.

What are the most important skills you received or experiences you had during the program?

The program prepared me and equipped me with a set of skills and tools for modeling, analyzing complex datasets for distinctive careers in data science. More importantly, I was facing endless problems and learning new knowledge every day. In order to adapt to such a challenging environment, I had to become a quicker learner, decision maker, and problem solver. Study habits, a good attitude, taking initiative, good communication skills, and a whole set of other attributes were crucial for future success in data science, and I'm glad I learned that early in this program. I learned that data science is not only about building predictive models; there is so much we can use data science techniques for, including goal prediction, recommendations, automated processes, and decision making, optimization, and more. All these are done through domain expertise, effective communication, and utilization of any and all relevant programming languages, software packages, data infrastructure, and so on—all things explored in the program.
