Research Centers
DSI includes two research centers, the Center for Computational Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Center for Technological Responsibility, Re-imagination, and Redesign (CNTR).
Center for Computational Molecular Biology
CCMB's mission is to promote the development, implementation, and application of analytical and computational methods to foundational questions in the biological and medical sciences. The research programs of the Core Faculty in CCMB lie fundamentally at the intersection of computer science, evolutionary biology, mathematics, and molecular and cellular biology.
Center for Technological Responsibility, Re-imagination, and Redesign
CNTR’s mission is to redefine computer science education, research, and technology to center the needs, problems, and aspirations of all those that technology has left behind.
DSI-Funded Research
The Data Science Institute acts as a catalyst for data science research at Brown by offering funding opportunities for collaborative projects that support our mission to stimulate innovation and support people aspiring to improve lives in our data-driven world.
