The Brown Data Science Institute is honored to continue supporting cutting-edge research and education projects across Brown that apply data science methodologies, bolster data fluency across disciplines, and leverage the power of data science for a more equitable society. After considering a record-number of diverse proposals this year, DSI will fund seven Seed Grants and four Collaborative Grants.
This year’s projects will stimulate innovation and support education in data-driven fields, from establishing educational pipelines on large-language models for health and social scientists, to investigating how the dissolution of the US Department of Education has impacted education nationwide, to developing a Career Readiness Index for students at Brown, and supporting physics students developing advanced algorithms for handling data-intensive projects.
Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals for this year’s Data Science Seed & Collaborative Grants. Find additional information about the funding and submission process for Data Science Seed & Collaborative Grants.
