Professor Venkatasubramanian stands up to Big Tech

Professor Venkatasubramanian made the list as one of The Chronicle of Philanthropy's "33 Leaders Standing Up to Big Tech in the Age of A.I."

The month of July was big for Suresh Venkatasubramanian, Professor of Computer Science and Data Science. DSI’s new Center for Technological Responsibility, Reimagination, and Redesign officially launched. The new Center (CNTR) is the brainchild of Prof. Venkatasubramanian, who is its founding director. 

On July 31, Prof. Venkatasubramanian was listed as one of “33 Leaders Standing Up to Big Tech in the Age of A.I.,” in a Chronicle of Philanthropy article; his name appears among a very diverse and impressive list of advocates. Prof. Venkatasubramanian is recognized for his work in the area of artificial intelligence safety and privacy and for co-authoring the “Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights,” (released in Fall 2022) under President Biden’s administration.
