Postdoctoral Researcher, Center for Computational Molecular Biology, Data Science Institute

Biography

Mia is an NSF postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Computational Molecular Biology working with Emilia Huerta-Sanchez.  They are interested in critical analyses of how genomic sex differences claims are made, how gendered effects can impact the inference of human demographic history, and in applications of coalescent theory to detecting admixture and introgression.

Previously, she got her Ph.D. in the departments of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality under the supervision of John Wakeley at Harvard, and was a member of the GenderSci Lab.

In their free time, they enjoy playing board games, doing puzzle hunts, and going to concerts.
