The Datathon is a two-day event in which teams of students work around the clock to discover and share insights about large, rich, and complex datasets. Apart from the competition itself, there were many other events ranging from educational workshops to networking opportunities with peers and industry representatives. Over 300 attendees travelled from across the country to learn and compete. Organizers from the undergraduate club included (pictured right, from left) Arvind Yalavarti, Rajyashri Battula, Casey Kim, Matthew Robins, Erin Bugbee, and Mary Dong.
Sponsors for this year’s Datathon included Citizens Bank, Dassault Systemes, Fidelity Investments, Susquehanna International Group, and Facebook. The event was supported by the Brown Data Science Initiative and the Brown Departments of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Economics.
